Baptismal Font of the Baptistery of San Giovanni in Siena

On the basis two bronze reliefs are made by Giovanni with his father Turino, "The Birth of John the Baptist" and "Preaching of John the Baptist", two masterpieces alongside those of the greatest artists of the time such as Jacopo della Quercia, Donatello and Ghibertiwhere he became dear friend.

Giovanni is not only the strongest artistic personality of the workshop because he knows and practice with great versatility all the arts according to the commission, but it is also the most representative figure of the goldsmith of Siena in the first half of the fourteenth century.
